During her illustrious career in luxury interior design, Perla Lichi has created happy homes for a diverse clientele and she is ready to do this for you! Over the years since she started designing professionally in 1984, she has received hundreds of awards and accolades, raised two sons, and published seven coffee table books that showcase her hundreds of successful design projects across the USA and around the world. She has designed for stars and royalty as well as your next-door neighbor. The charismatic designer has been featured in many magazines, and on radio and television throughout Florida and internationally in South Africa, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, and beyond.
Titles of Perla’s coffee table books offer a perfect way to follow her unique interior styling, for which she is known, and the same design philosophy that she has followed through the years. You Deserve Beautiful Rooms, her first book, projects her belief that everyone’s life can be enhanced when they are surrounded by well-designed rooms. It was followed by You Too Deserve Beautiful Rooms, and More Beautiful Rooms. Books four and five celebrate her years in Dubai, UAE. Books published during this period, Palaces, and Palaces of the World highlight her work in the Middle East and Africa. Opening a satellite showroom in this extraordinary international city broadened her understanding of the world and its many diverse cultures. They showcae her versatile design skills when challenged with large-scale, very high-end residences, and confirmed her belief that “Every man and woman wants to be king and queen—no matter how exquisite or how humble—of their own palace.”
Her sixth book, “Inspirations: From Cottages to Castles,” shows off her ability to design in many styles, from small apartments to luxurious estate homes.
Perla’s first love was fashion design. And fashion is where she was headed when a full scholarship from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and a nudge from her folks directed her to the field of interior design. After graduation and apprenticeships with several local designers, in 1984, Perla opened a small shop in Fort Lauderdale. Her design studio continued to grow. Today, home base is Pompano Beach, FL, where the “design magic” begins. Through all the design projects, growth and changes over the years, Perla has also managed to travel the world, inspired by what she sees, and design residences around the globe.
Perla’s gregarious nature has always been a plus since she connects with many people day in and day out. Her bold fashion statements. Her joy of living. Her genuine love of people. Her passion for design and a desire to share her passion with everyone. These are hallmarks of a woman who has enjoyed a remarkable 40-year career and the rewards of a life well-lived.
